Maribeth H. Price

Dr. Maribeth Price is a professor and the Dean of Graduate Education at the South Dakota School of Mines and Tech. She has been using Esri products since 1991, teaching college GIS since 1995, and writing textbooks using Esri software since 2001. She has extensive familiarity with ArcMap/ArcCatalog and ArcGIS Pro, both as a user and in the classroom, and experience writing about GIS concepts and developing software tutorials. She teaches GIS workshops, having offered more than 100 workshops to over 1,200 participants since 2000.

ArcGIS Pro Mastery (PDF) by Maribeth Price is an outstanding resource that brings you the expertise you need to master ArcGIS Pro. Over the years, the core principles of GIS have stayed the same, but the software that is used to practice them is always progressing. With the release of ArcGIS Pro, the newest software of the Esri GIS series, a more current generation of GIS is here. ArcGIS Pro boasts a 64-bit multi-threaded architecture that implements ribbon-style menus, includes 2D and 3D applications, and is directly linked to ArcGIS Online. This guidebook represents a significant innovation from Mastering ArcGIS, a textbook that concentrated on GIS concepts and abilities using the ArcGIS Desktop programs of ArcCatalog and ArcMap. The concepts of GIS remain mostly the same in both books, but the implementation and, in some instances, the language has changed. There is also a newer edition available.
