While signing up for the google account (with an exisiting email (that edu one) , it asks for phone number , is it safe to give my number (its non us (india)) ? can i be charged later on that number if i give it now ?
Its safe to give a number and it doesn’t matter where its from, as long as when you sign up for the AI, its using an EDU email and US VPN. ALso when signing in FLOW (for Veo 3), use a VPN
But isn’t Google known for its relentless pursuit in finding bypasses (colab shadow bans, etc)? If your phone number is linked to your main google account, that account may be flagged or face ramifications from google, no?

I already have a .edu account, and I successfully logged in to https://one.google.com/explore-plan/ai-premium-student. However, after logging in, the site redirected me and showed a message asking me to sign in with a personal (non-.edu) Google account. I didn’t see the “Free for 15 Months” plan anywhere.
You have to be signed in from your Google. (if you don’t want to use your main, make a new one)

Dont just change location then, use incognito mode and then try again (and try a differnt location as well.. some public/free VPNs aren’t what they are (they may say USA, but if you use “whatismyipaddress(dot)com”, you may see yourself in India
