About The Author

Judith A. Boss

Judith A. Boss

Dr. Judith A. Boss received her BA from the University of Western Australia in 1969, her MA from Dalhousie University in Canada in 1971, and her Ph.D. from Boston University in 1990. She worked as a writer and researcher for the Nova Scotia Museum before pursuing a career in academia.

From 1988 to 1995, she served as a member of the University of Rhode Island's philosophy faculty. From 1996 to 2004, she was the assistant director of curriculum affairs at Brown University School of Medicine. In 2006, she "retired" to focus on writing again. She spent several years writing her textbooks while a visiting scholar with the philosophy department at Brown University.

Professor Boss is the author of over 9 books, including three with McGraw-Hill, ANALYZING MORAL ISSUES, ETHICS FOR LIFE, and THINK. She has articles published in publications such as Public Affairs Quarterly, Academic Medicine, The Journal of Medical Ethics, Educational Theory, Free Inquiry, and The Journal of Experiential Education.
