Renewable Energy: Physics, Engineering, Environmental Impacts, Economics and Planning (5th Edition) is a reference source that provides a comprehensive overview of the renewable energy sphere. This eBook caters to researchers, students, engineers, consultants, and planners who are currently working in the renewable energy field or looking to expand their knowledge. The book is structured into three parts to help readers focus on the relevant issues for a given project or question.

PART I delves into the basic scientific principles behind solar, wind, and biomass, which are all major renewable energy resources. PART II offers detailed information on how these raw renewable sources can be transmitted into the grid, converted into useful forms, and stored for future usage. PART III addresses environmental impacts, energy planning, and socio-economic issues on regional and global levels.

The eBook covers the underlying engineering and physics of energy sources and conversion processes, including models, methodologies, and analysis. It presents an updated understanding of the current progress and scientific basis in the field. Advanced knowledge of physics and maths is required to read this book, making it ideal for professionals with a strong technical background.

The latest edition of the book provides updated data on climate change, renewable market penetration, the most recent available technology for renewable energy conversion, transmission, and storage.
