About The Author

John J. Wild

John J. Wild

Dr. John J. Wild is a distinguished professor of accounting at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He previously held appointments at Michigan State University and the University of Manchester in England. He received his BBA, MS, and PhD from the University of Wisconsin.

Wild teaches accounting courses to students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has received numerous teaching honors, including the Mabel W. Chipman Excellence-in-Teaching Award and the departmental Excellence-in-Teaching Award, and he is a two-time recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award from business graduates at the University of Wisconsin. He also received the Beta Alpha Psi and Roland F. Salmonson Excellence-in-Teaching Award from Michigan State University. John has received several research honors, is a past KPMG Peat Marwick National Fellow, and is a recipient of fellowships from the American Accounting Association and the Ernst and Young Foundation.

Dr. Wild is an active member of the American Accounting Association and its sections. He has served on several committees of these organizations, including the Wildman Award, Outstanding Accounting Educator Award, National Program Advisory, Publications, and Research Committees. John is author of Managerial Accounting, College Accounting, and Financial Accounting all published by McGraw-Hill Education.

Dr. Wild's research articles on accounting and analysis appear in Journal of Accounting and Economics; The Accounting Review; Journal of Accounting Research; Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance; Journal of Accounting and Public Policy; Contemporary Accounting Research; and other journals. Dr. Wild is past associate editor of Contemporary Accounting Research and has served on several editorial boards including The Accounting Review.

Mary Lea McAnally

Mary Lea McAnally

Dr. Mary Lea McAnally is a Professor of Accounting at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. She served as Director of Innovation and Strategic Planning. Prior to that, she served as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. Dr. McAnally got her Ph.D. from Stanford University and B. Comm. from the University of Alberta. She worked as a Chartered Accountant (in Canada) and is a Certified Internal Auditor. Before arriving at Texas A&M in 2002, Professor McAnally held positions at the University of Texas at Austin, Canadian National Railways, and Dunwoody and Company.

Her research interests include executive compensation, accounting and disclosure in regulated environments, and accounting for risk.

Peter D. Easton

Dr. Peter D. Easton is a distinguished scholar in accounting and valuation who currently occupies the Notre Dame Alumni Chair in Accountancy at the Mendoza College of Business. He is well-regarded by academic research and legal communities, frequently serving as a consultant on accounting and valuation matters in federal and state courts.

Professor Easton received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, his graduate degree from the University of New England, and his Ph.D. in Business Administration (with a focus on accounting and finance) from the University of California, Berkeley.

His research on corporate valuation has been widely published in prominent academic journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and Journal of Business Finance and Accounting.

Throughout his career, Peter has held teaching appointments at several prestigious institutions around the world, including the University of Chicago, the University of California at Berkeley, Ohio State University, Macquarie University, the Australian Graduate School of Management, the University of Melbourne, Tilburg University, National University of Singapore, Seoul National University, and Nyenrode University. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and research excellence.
