Donald Pagach

Dr. Donald P. Pagach is a Professor of Accounting at the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University. He received his BS in Accounting and MS of Accountancy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his Ph.D. from Florida State University. His research interests focus on enterprise risk management and financial accounting, with a specific focus on financial statement and forecasting analysis. Donald has been named a University Outstanding Teacher and has received research awards for his research on Enterprise Risk Management.

Dr. James M. Wahlen (aka Jim Wahlen) is the James R. Hodge Chair of the Accounting Department, Professor of Accounting, and the former Chairman of the MBA Program at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Wahl received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has served on the faculties of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Washington, INSEAD, University of Chicago, and Pacific Lutheran University.

James research and teaching interests focus on financial statement analysis, financial accounting, and the capital markets. His research investigates earnings quality and earnings management, fair value accounting for financial instruments, earnings volatility as an indicator of risk, accounting for loss reserve estimates by banks and insurers, stock market efficiency with respect to accounting information and testing the extent to which future stock returns can be predicted with earnings and other financial statement information. His research has been published in a wide array of academic and practitioner journals in accounting and finance. Dr. Wahlen has had public accounting experience in both Seattle and Milwaukee and is a member of the American Accounting Association. James Wahlen has received numerous teaching awards during his career.

Jefferson P. Jones

Jefferson P. Jones

Dr. Jeff Jones joined Auburn University in 1997 after completing his Ph.D. at Florida State University. His research interests include the use of fair value in accounting measurements, the quality and usefulness of accounting information, and accounting education. He has published many articles in Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, the Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance, Advances in Accounting, the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, Issues in Accounting Education, the CPA Journal, the International Journal of Forecasting, and the Ohio CPA Journal. His research has been presented at both annual and regional meetings of various professional associations including the American Academy of Accounting and Finance and the American Accounting Association. His research efforts have earned him recognition through receipt of the College of Business Outstanding Researcher Award.

Jeff currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in financial accounting and applied professional research. He has received the School of Accountancy Outstanding Teacher Award, the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary Outstanding Teacher Award (twice), the College of Business McCartney Teaching Award, and the On-Campus Master of Accountancy Outstanding Professor Award (three times), and the Distance Master of Accountancy Outstanding Professor Award. He is currently a co-author of the textbook, Intermediate Accounting, and Cornerstones of Financial Accounting 2e, both published by South-Western. He is also a CPA and a member of the AAA and AICPA
